Personal Attributes

Who I Am

Companies take a risk with each new hire. The usual underlying question is, does this person fit our technical needs?  In reality, technical skills can be developed and trained for in a relatively short time if the person has a solid foundation and the demonstrated acumen to learn quickly.   The more important question is, will this person fit with our culture?  As a hiring manager considering me for a position at your company, it would be helpful to know something about my attributes upfront.  This benefits everyone since time is valuable and you want to concentrate on people who will work out in the long term.

The following is intended to give you just that.  Some insight into “what makes me tick” and how I work with others and perform on the job.  To start, I provide a self-assessment of how I believe others will see me.  To back this up, I offer a categorized list of actual comments made by my managers in performance reviews.  I have good relationships with my past managers and most are available as references.  Hopefully, this will give you some useful information on the question of “who I am” and what my motivation is.

My self assessment

I am flexible, dedicated, dependable and customer focused. I work well on my own or with a team. Throughout my career, I have been charged with taking on projects or platforms where the experience was gained on the fly and self-learning is the rule rather than the exception. I seem to excel at this as it has been the mainstay of my success. I have excellent communication skills. Technical skills can be learned but people skills tend to come naturally. I have the people skills and am eager to adapt my technical skills to meet the need at hand.
